Please note that, while you can shop from home, no shipping or delivery will be available. All items purchased must be picked up curbside at our warehouse at 333 Lancaster Street in Oakland.
Frequently Asked Questions about the 2021 Online Sale
After you choose “checkout,” you’ll see a calendar listing days available for pickup. Days that are grayed out are not selectable. When you click on an available day, you’ll see a drop-down menu and you can select a time.
Send an email to Onlinesales@whiteelephantsale.org and include:
- Your name
- Your order number(s)
- Your current pickup date and time
- Your new requested pickup date and time. We are scheduling pickups Wednesday through Sunday 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. through May 30, 2021.
We will send an email with a confirmation or followup within 48 hours.
The White Elephant Sale is brief. The 2021 sale will run from Saturday, May 1 at 8:00 a.m. until Sunday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) and then will close down.
Yes, you will have the option to shop by our traditional warehouse departments, from Accessories through Women’s Wear. And since we’re online, you can also use our search feature to find things, even if you’re unsure what department it is in.
Not this year! Everything we have for sale will be in the store the day we open.
When you complete your purchase, you will be asked to choose a day and time to pick up your items curbside outside the White Elephant Sale warehouse located at 333 Lancaster Street in Oakland.

We cannot deliver or ship any items purchased at the sale.
All merchandise sold on this site has been donated and is sold as-is, without warranty of any kind. Unless specified otherwise, all items should be presumed to be used. Please review all photos and descriptions carefully before purchasing; descriptions are accurate to the best of our knowledge but we cannot accept any returns for any reason. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
We won’t be able to deliver and while our volunteers will do what they can to help you get your larger items into your vehicle, we cannot supply ropes, cords, padding, or other supplies.
The software we are using is Shopify.com. With this software, an item is not entirely yours until you pay for it. Items in your cart remain visible and available to other shoppers until you complete your purchase.
You can make your purchase using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diner’s Club or ELO. We will not be able to accept PayPal, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, or Venmo.
While you are welcome to email us about specific items, it may take up to 48 hours to reply. In that time, we cannot hold an item for you and it might be sold before you hear back from us. At these prices, your best bet is to review the descriptions and images and take a chance.

Yes, you can make a cash donation right on our sale site by clicking on “Donate to the White Elephant Sale” when you visit the site. We are not taking donations of any physical products while the sale is in progress. We will start taking product donations for the 2022 sale once again in mid-June. Review our donations page for information on how and when to donate and then call us at (510) 839-5919 to schedule your pickup.
We are as eager as you to get shoppers back into the warehouse and we will do that in future years assuming it is safe to do so. We don’t yet know if online sales will become part of the future of the White Elephant Sale.
